Ride-hailing apps and Taxis
This is the most comfortable way to reach the apartment, whether arriving from GIG or SDU airports, or the Novo Rio Bus Station (Rodoviária).
- Uber: At the airports and the Bus Station, there are specific areas for app-based boarding. At the Bus Station, the meeting point is usually at the upper arrivals sector. At the airports, use the Uber Lounge to wait with more comfort and safety.
- 99 and Táxi.Rio: These are great alternatives. Táxi.Rio allows you to use the city’s official fleet with discounts ranging from 20% to 40%.
Safety: Avoid accepting ride offers from unauthorized individuals soliciting passengers in the arrival halls. If you choose a regular taxi, use only the authorized booths inside the terminals.
Metro and VLT (Light Rail)
Public transport is efficient but requires attention regarding luggage volume.
- From the Bus Station: You need to take the VLT (Line 1) to Cinelândia metro station and, from there, transfer to the Metro (Direction Jardim Oceânico) to Botafogo station.
- From Santos Dumont Airport: The VLT connects the airport directly to the metro at Cinelândia station.
Walking from the Metro to the Building
Upon exiting the metro, you can cut through the Hortifruti market and use the passage through Shopping dos Sabores. It is the fastest and most pleasant route (it is air-conditioned). This shortcut is open on weekdays between 08:00 and 20:00, on Saturdays between 08:00 and 19:00, and is closed on Sundays.
If this passage is closed when you arrive, the route without the shortcut is also short, taking about five minutes walking—it’s about 500 meters.
Note: I do not recommend this route upon arrival if you are carrying heavy luggage, as there are stairs at the station that may make the journey difficult.
For those driving
For those traveling with their own or rented vehicle, access is simple via Aterro do Flamengo or Rebouças Tunnel.
- Street Parking: Available on Rua General Polidoro and surroundings (rotating public parking).
- Private Parking: For greater convenience, there is a paid parking lot just 200 meters from the apartment, at the Supermercado Rede Economia. There is a second 24-hour parking option 550 meters away.
